Farina Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore 2021
Country/Region of Origin: Italy

Region: Italy, Veneto

Vineyard location: Hillsides in San Pietro in Cariano and Sant’Ambrogio di Valpolicella at an altitude of 300 meters

Grape variety: 50% Corvina, 15% Corvinone, 20% Rondinella, 5% Molinara & 10% Oseleta

Background: Fine red wine from the classic Valpolicella region. Described as “Superiore” for its higher alcohol level and at least one year’s refining in oak casks, giving both body and structure and making this wine display great harmony and a sense of roundness.

Great red wine made with respect for tradition and terroir. The first fermentation takes place in autumn, after the harvest. In early spring it is re-fermented on the Amarone pomace still soaked in wine, from which it extracts more structure, personality, aromas and colour.

Tasting notes: Ruby red colour. Intense on the nose, with aromas of pepper, leather, cherry and plum jam, liquorice and ginger, the palatte is well structured, robust and harmonious.

Food pairing: Pairs well with savoury pasta dishes such as a porcini risotto or flavourful stuffed or baked pasta. Perfect with grilled meat, roasts and aged cheeses
