Jaboulet Le Chevalier de Sterimberg 2014
Jaboulet Hermitage “Chevalier Sterimberg” white 2015 [75cl] Rhone France

Wine Advocate 94 Points The revamped Jaboulet firm, under the leadership of Caroline Frey, seems to have settled in and are now producing one serious lineup of wines from throughout the Rhone Valley." –Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate 94 Points

"A favorite of the whites, there’s roughly 1,300 cases of the 2013 Hermitage Chevalier de Sterimberg, and it’s made from two-thirds Marsanne and one-third Roussanne. It exhibits classic notes of white currants, citrus and sappy, freshly cut flowers to go with a medium-bodied, crisp, focused and nicely concentrated palate feel. Made in a more fresh style than most Hermitage Blancs, with bright acidity and clean, pure aromas and flavors, it will be interesting to see how this new style develops over the coming decade or more. Either way, it’s certainly a beautiful drink today.

"Light yellow-gold. Powerful, deeply scented bouquet of peach nectar, sweet butter, chamomile, ginger and white flowers. Deep and chewy on the palate, offering spicy dried pit fruit and mineral flavors and a sexy floral quality that gains strength with air. Rich and weighty but energetic as well, finishing bright and long, with a repeating ginger note and a hint of candied fig." –Josh Raynolds, Vinous Media 92 Points
