Santa Alicia Millantu
Santa Alicia Millantu 2015 [75cl] Chile Bright purplish ruby red color with orange hues. Very expressive and intense on the nose, with black fruit, plum and spices like cinnamon, clove and vanilla. Great volume and persistence in the mouth, with smooth, round tannins. A classy wine with an excellent aging potential that will gain in complexity as it spends time in the bottle. A glass-coating opaque purple, it gives up a reticent nose of cedar, spice box, cinnamon, sage, violets, blackcurrant, and blueberry. Round, ripe, and surprisingly forward, this is an elegant effort that can be enjoyed now but can be cellared for several years. Santa Alicia have been producing wines in the heart of Maipo Valley since 1954. With grapes from three select communes, a state of the art winery, and judicious use of the finest American and French oak barrels, we believe the wines represent the highest price/quality ratio in Chile. In 2007, they were named Chilean Wine Producer of the Year for "best overall results from a Chilean winery" in the prestigious International Wine & Spirit Competition in London. Santa Alicia possesses a very talented team of winemakers. Leading the team, is David González, with more than 30 years of experience. David contributes, together with his philosophy of perfection, extensive knowledge and the dedication of an artisan. For him, a glass of wine goes beyond the sensory pleasure, and turns into a bridge of communication between the art of creating a mythical concoction and its final consumers.
