Woodstock Cabernet Sauvignon 2009
Country/Region of Origin: Australia

Region: Australia, McLaren Vale

Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon

Background: Woodstock has enjoyed a strong reputation for Cabernet Sauvignon since 1982. Situated in the higher and cooler end of the Vale, Wood-stock is the perfect home for the Cabernet Sauvignon variety. Warm, sunny days with cool gully and evening sea breezes ensure the Cabernet fruit ripens well.

Tasting notes: The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon shows classic cabernet characters. Blackcurrants, cassis, hints of dark green foliage, eucalypt and earth all feature with rhubarb notes and white cherries on the finish. The wine is juicy with good acidity and a firm yet elegant tannin structure which will reward years of careful and patient cellaring.

Food pairing: Grilled lamb loin chops served with smashed potatoes and a fresh summer salad.
