Region: Chile, Maipo
Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon
Background: Santa Alicia have been producing wines in the heart of Maipo Valley since 1954. With grapes from three select communes, a state-of-the-art winery, and judicious use of the finest American and French oak barrels, we believe the wines represent the highest price/quality ratio in Chile. In 2007, they were named Chilean Wine Producer of the Year for "best overall results from a Chilean winery" in the prestigious International Wine & Spirit Competition in London. Santa Alicia possesses a very talented team of winemakers. Leading the team, is David González, with more than 30 years of experience. David contributes, together with his philosophy of perfection, extensive knowledge and the dedication of an artisan. For him, a glass of wine goes beyond the sensory pleasure, and turns into a bridge of communication between the art of creating a mythical concoction and its final consumers.
Tasting notes: Lively, bright and intense cherry red. Fruit-driven nose, ripe cherries, figs, ripe plums with hints of spices like cinnamon, clove and vanilla. Good structure in the mouth, with smooth, round tannins. Long persistence.
Award: Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition 2015 - Silver Medal
