Background: The Fifth Wave is Langmeil’s most treasured Old Vine Garden Grenache and is dedicated to the fifth generation of the Lindner family. Planted in the middle of last century, The Fifth Wave is our ‘call to arms’ to preserve, promote and protect the best of the Barossa. The Lindner family of Langmeil Winery has been immersed in the Barossa’s culture of farming, food, wine and community for six generations. Their commitment to quality in all aspects is unwavering and any wine that bears the Langmeil name represents the family’s pursuit of excellence in wine and community.

Tasting notes: This generous, full-bodied Grenache demonstrates the full potential of the variety in the Barossa, with rich red cherry, milk chocolate and white pepper flavours, a lusciously proportioned yet superbly detailed palate, and a vibrantly mineral finish. Light to medium depth crimson. Dark cherry and raspberry fruits mingle with sweet and white pepper spice and hints of vanilla add to the complexity. Ripe, red berry and dark cherry flows ontot he palate, melding into lovely sweet and briary spice. The finish lingers on a fruitful and spicy note with typical chalky yet fine tannins.

Food pairing: Slow cooked lamb shanks, crispy skin salmon, roast pork or duck, dark chocolate.

Background: Started by the late Doug Collet in 1973, Woodstock in McLaren Vale has always had an eye on the future. As well as red, white and rose wines, Woodstock has a ken focus on fortified wines too. When his son and current owner, Scott took over in 1982, the tradition has continued with fine wine making from the old vines on the property. Ben Glaetzer is now the chief winemaker with Scott managing vines – a winning team as shown by the Heartland range.

Tasting notes: Intense varietal red fruit notes include cherry and raspberry. The palate is broad and rich, allowing it to be more readily drunk in its youth.

Tasting notes: Clear deep dark purple colour. Pure and very intense aromas reminiscent of red berry fruit such as cranberries, red cherries and raspberries combined with mineral notes of flint and hints of eucalyptus. The palate is dry, full bodied with rich concentrated juicy fruit, firm but ripe tannins and a refreshing acidity making this a great food wine.

‘Les Traverses’ are the dry stone walls which were built to support and protect the slopes in Ventoux from the significant erosion caused by the strong Mistral winds. 40+ year old vines on average From the foothills of the Mont Ventoux – clay and limestone soils with south/southwest exposure 80% Grenache, 20% Syrah Aged in 20% large older barrel and 80% in stainless tanks Blood orange, raspberry, fresh pepper and wild herbs emerge from this delicious Ventoux Rouge. Incredibly sappy and persistent with laser focus and precision. When they are well-made by a gifted winemaker, reds from Ventoux are usually excellent value. This one really is, boasting fresh aromas of red fruit, spices and cedar. Palate is fruity and lively with fine tannins in the background. Nothing over complicated, this bottle is a great pick for your everyday drink!

Winemaking process: Gentle pneumatic pressing. Cold settling. Alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats at a low temperature (16°-18°C). 6 months ageing on the fine lees in concrete tanks.

Tasting notes: Pale yellow hue with green tints. Aromas of exotic fruits, white flowers and citrus. Very complex encompassing notes of peach and apricot. This cuvee has a very good length and good freshness.
