Background: Argyros Estate was established in 1903 and is now run by Matthew Argyros, the fourth generation of the family to do so although the family has been involved in grape growing on Santorini for 200 years.
Tasting notes: Atlantis White is a fresh, charming wine, made to be enjoyed young and not intended for ageing.
Light yellow colour, with vibrant aromas of citrus fruits, lemon blossom, and delicate notes of exotic fruits. Light body, good balance in the mouth thanks to the wine’s acidity and minerality with a pleasant tingling aftertaste.
Background: The grapes are sun-dried for fourteen days, natural fermentation and three years of aging take place in old concrete vats, with additional aging for sixteen years in old wooden vats.
Tasting notes: An intense, profound wine of breath-taking complexity. Ready to drink on release but time is unable to destroy this. The final yield of this would be close to 60 ml per square metre of the vineyard.
Food pairing: Enjoy it with nuts, dried fruits, and black chocolate, spicy and ripened cheeses.
