Tasting notes: Crushed rose petal, spicy ginger and lime aromatics. Followed by a focused, mineral driven palate with strength and an energetic finish. A lively and varietal wine that drinks well immediately but has the potential to age elegantly over the next 3-5 years.
Tasting notes:This is seriously good stuff – lemon and lime jostle with passion fruit, apple and elderflower – all dancing on your tongue. 3rd best Riesling in Germany.
This is an off dry style, so neither sweet nor dry, but has obvious hints of sweetness, which is great against the backdrop of piercing acidity that the German Rieslings are renowned for. Expect lots of candied lime flavours, fruit salad and floral notes.
Background:The very high lime content in the Kugler vineyard has a very distinctive and lasting effect on the wines. The Rieslings with an exotic style and fine acidity.Weinrierder winery always goes to the limit, especially with the Riesling variety. They take it to a very high risk through the late harvest in order to wrest the best from nature. “Riesling on the limit”.
Tasting notes:Complex notes of peaches, honeysuckle, fruit bread and apricots, joined by hints of forest floor and sun-warmed rock. Incredibly fruity on the palate due to its residual sweet profile. Balanced, silky texture and lively fruit acidity and considerable length. Once again, hints of honeysuckle and papaya appear.
Tasting notes: This Austrian riesling has a yellow-green colour with silver reflections. Meadow herbs and fine tobacco spice underlay peach, guava and orange flavours. It has a juicy amd integrated acid structure with dark minerality. The finish is firm and slightly spicy, with integrated sweetness of tropical fruit and lychee.
Weinrieder Gruner Veltliner Ried Schneiderberg 2022
Region: Austria
Grape variety: Riesling
Tasting notes:Notes of earth, yeast and corn husk make for an unusual but compelling nose. The palate enforces this even more: Fruit subsides next to that yeasty, salty, almost bitter intensity that also has a creamy backdrop and elasticity.
Tasting notes: Light yellow, with greenish reflections. Delightful citrus notes, fresh herbs and grassy-herbaceous hints. Aromas of citrus and vineyard peach with a pleasant acidity.
Food pairing: Delight fish dishes, antipasti and Asian food.
Tasting notes: A fresh and nervous subtle Riesling with citrus noses. In the mouth, frank and tangy with a good density. A very dry Riesling on the finish on grapefruit bitters. Perfect at the table with oysters or mussels and fish. Do not hesitate to keep it for another two or three years.
