Grape variety: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon & Cabernet Franc
Tasting notes: Top-flight modern Lalande de Pomerol which does admittedly show a quite opulently oaky nose, but which also has the volume and depth of fruit to complement it. Round and mouth filling, succulent and long, it is delicious drinking now.
Beautiful deep ruby red with tints at rim showing no signs of ageing as yet. Rich, powerful and many-layered nose of red fruits, dark spice, fresh oak and cocoa. Supple, velvety palate with fine, crisply elegant tannins. Fresh lingering finish with menthol flavours. A charming, easy-to-drink wine which will go down well with any fine food.
Tasting notes: Deep ruby colour. Smooth cherry and raspberry’s tints along with lilac and mellowed oakiness notes. Full-bodied wine with silky tannins.
Tasting notes: The wine is a compote of black and red fruits, very pure in character. A hint of toasted oak on the nose, with balanced acidity and freshness.
The colour is intense garnet. Very fruity and spicy, gourmand and elegant with a very nice freshness. There are notes of blackberry associated with fine blackcurrant and black cherry. Well balanced, full-bodied with a nice minerality and a smooth attack in the mouth, good structure with silky tannins, and a long good finish with spicy and leather notes.
Award: Awarded 93/100 points (Silver Medal) at the 2019 Decanter World Wine Awards
Reviews: Jeb Dunnuck Rating - 90 points (2/28/2019): A selection of the top Merlot brought up all in foudre, the 2016 Perron La Fleur offers more black cherry and blackberry fruit as well as more concentration, with a rich, mouth filling texture, plenty of spice and saddle leather notes and building tannins. It will keep for decades.
Tasting notes: Deep ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, faint ochre brightening on rim. Ripe dark berry fruit, delicate plum, noble wood and nougat, a hint of cardamom and orange zest. Juicy, complex, fine sweetness, ripe wild berry fruit, vivid tannins, mineral and long, ripe sweet cherry, but also some tannic bite on the finish, savoury aftertaste.
Grape variety: 85% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc & 3% Malbec
Ageing: A very fine success that will have to wait at least 2 years after its vintage for the most impatient and which of course has good aging potential.
Tasting notes: Wine with a beautiful, dense purple colour. The nose is powerful with notes of black fruits, blueberries and blackcurrants, with nuances of black pepper. There are also fine aromas of vanilla and toast. On the palate the wine is full and fleshy, with a beautiful complexity on a smooth substance. The Merlots, harvested without being over-ripe, offer both roundness, delicate and crunchy flesh and a grain that harmoniously coats the tannins that give this wine length and structure. This wine reveals all the complexity, richness and charm for which Pomerol wines are renowned. A typical wine of its appellation.
