Tasting notes: Violet red, limpid and intense. Floral aromas and notes of wild blackberries and raspberries combined with notes of coconut and toast. A ripe and fruity wine of medium volume.

Background: Santa Gloria is a leading brand from the award-winning Santa Alicia Winery. David González, an inveterate perfectionist with thirty years' experience, is Santa Alicia's chief winemaker producer. Much of the grapes for this wine are sourced from the Maipo region, which surrounds Chile's capital Santiago. The colour is intense garnet. Very fruity and spicy, gourmand and elegant with a very nice freshness. There are notes of blackberry associated with fine blackcurrant and black cherry. Well balanced, full-bodied with a nice minerality and a smooth attack in the mouth, good structure with silky tannins, and a long good finish with spicy and leather notes.

Reviews: Jeb Dunnuck Rating - 90 points (2/28/2019): A selection of the top Merlot brought up all in foudre, the 2016 Perron La Fleur offers more black cherry and blackberry fruit as well as more concentration, with a rich, mouth filling texture, plenty of spice and saddle leather notes and building tannins. It will keep for decades.
