Background: The Viognier fruit generated excitement and anticipation due to its intense concentration of flavour and impeccable condition. Early season viticultural decisions proved to be the critical factor in setting the vines balance and direction for what would be a classical Marlborough season. Diurnal temperature variation came to the fore, allowing the fruit to reach optimum ripeness whilst retaining true varietal aromas with what can only be described as luxurious flavours.

Tasting notes: Peaches and cream, ripe apricot and white florals envelop the senses whilst a heady musk and subtle oak spice provide an exotic wave of intrigue. Generously flavoured with dried apricot, fresh citrus and creamy white nougat. A textural experience in itself, the flavours are long and silky providing a truly sophisticated taste experience.

Food pairing: A lovely partner to the classic shrimp cocktail, however truly sensational alongside Jamaican jerk chicken with lime, mango and coriander salad.
