Chateau Talbot Caillou Bordeaux Blanc 2019

Country/Region of Origin: France
Region: France, Bordeaux
Grape variety: Semillon & Sauvignon Blanc
Background: Georges Cordier, the grandfather of the current owners was one of the first to replant white wine in Médoc in the 1930’s. With a majority of Sauvignon, and a hint of Sémillon, Caillou Blanc is raised on its lees and stirred in a Burgundy manner. The wine is very aromatic, with a lively personality and responsiveness one finds again and again through all the vintages.
Tasting notes:
The nose is fruity, elegant, well-built and offers a fine power, concentration as well as a small richness. It reveals notes of juicy and ripe lemon, yellow apple and small notes of lychee associated with fine touches of quince and kumquat, ripe pineapple as well as discreet hints of spices, toasted brioche and beeswax. The palate is fruity, elegant, well-balanced and offers a beautiful definition, precision, gourmandise, tension, a beautiful finesse of the grain as well as a slight acidulous frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of ripe and juicy lemon, quince and small notes of ripe and juicy yellow apple associated with fine touches of juicy and crushed pear as well as very fine hints of apple blossoms, lemon blossoms and racy minerality. Good length. Very discreet almost toasted hints and sapidity on the finish.|
