Region: New Zealand, Marlborough
Grape Variety: Sauvignon Blanc
Background: The Fairhall Cliffs Vineyard is located on aged alluvial soils, a result of ancient glacial activity in the protected Southern Valleys of Marlborough. Brent Marris - “It is an old vine, single vineyard wine from my father’s vineyard. He was the first person to plant vines in Marlborough. The hand-picked fruit is grown on one of the few blocks consisting of slopes and cliffs in the southern valleys overlooking the Brancott Valley, Marlborough. The beauty about old vines is that the grapes achieve such balance and that older root systems give incredible minerality and expression – reminiscent of great Pouilly Fume”.
