Background: Cuna de Reyes winery was founded in 1999 in the town of Nájera (La Rioja) also known as the “Kings court” and, paying homage to this noble town, their wines were names Cuna de Reyes (birthplace of kings). Cuna de Reyes harvests its own grapes from La Rioja Alta, as well as those from contacted vintners in the area, with great care taken over the quality of the fruit. The main grape variety used is Tempranillo, however also used are Grenache and Mazuelo for red wines and Viura for whites. In the careful hands of the exuberant winemaker, Alfredo Ciria (third generation winemaker), traditional winemaking techniques are combines with state-of-the-art facilities to create wines of real quality and character.
Tasting notes: Hints of ripe fruit, toasted oak wood and vanilla on the nose. The palate is round with a good structure. Delicious, with nutty notes and a hint of vanilla at the end.
