Domaine Vincent Sauvestre Meursault "Clos des Tessons" 2013 [75cl] France

A beautifully ripe and rounded wood-aged wine. It brings out all the opulence of Meursault while keeping a tight, textured element as counterpoint. The wood flavors are beginning to blend into the lychee and peach flavors, promising an even richer experience in a few months.

Tessons is a very special place, high on ther hill above Meursault. It is generally regarded as one of the best village vineyards, and many even advocate its promotion to Premier Cru. Growers with holdings in this vineyard include Domaine Roulot and Domaine Pierre Morey, as well as Domaine Vincent Sauvestre. Of course, the promotion to Premier Cru is not likely to happen, but still, this is a special place and this is a special price for a domaine-grown Meursault.

Meursault “Clos des Tessons” 2013 Top notch Meursault from one of the best communes within this most illustrious of Burgundian appellations. 2013 was a good vintage and this wine is a perfect example. It is already starting to drink well but it will improve over the next 3 or so years. Lovely rich, buttery and slightly nutty flavours. This is a very serious white wine and all you’d expect from this excellent appellation.
