Grape Variety: Syrah
Winemaking Process: Sambuca di Sicilia, located 40 miles southwest of Palermo, has been producing wine for centuries, and Cantine Cellaro’s wines are an incomparable expression of the historical region. The Syrah grapes are grown on the hillside vineyards of Sambuca and the grape variety was introduced to Sicily in the early 90s. The grapes macerate with the skins for 10-15 days before fermentation and maturation in stainless steel.
Tasting Notes: It is an intense ruby colour with violet notes and lightly tannic, full and persistent aroma. Well balanced and easily drinkable.
Food Pairing: Great with red meat, barbecued and grilled meat, excellent with first courses, game birds and seasoned cheese. Try it with eggplant caponata or braised cauliflower.
