Leefield Station Chardonnay
Country/Region of Origin: New Zealand

Region: New Zealand, Marlborough, Waihopai Valley

Grape Variety: Chardonnay

Background: Leefield Station is located in the Waihopai Valley of Marlborough, and is one of the oldest farming stations in Marlborough, dating back to the 1840s. In 2013 Brent Marris of Marisco Vineyards purchased the 2,300 ha property with sights set for not only its pastoral farming potential but also to convert a large portion of the land to vineyard.

Tasting Notes: Beautifully ripe aromatics with hints of peach and nectarine are layered with a generous French oak influence and a touch of citrus. The palate is full-bodied with a creamy texture which is supported by a vibrant, lively acidity that reflects the cool climate vineyards of Marlborough’s Waihopai Valley.
