Region: Italy, Piedmont
Grape variety: Nebbiolo
Background: The Batasiolo Estate has vineyards located within the prized Barolo wine-growing areas: Batasiolo, Morino, Cerequio and Brunate in La Morra; Boscareto and the historical Briccolina in Serralunga d’Alba; Bricco di Vergne and Zonchetta in Barolo; Tantesi and Bussia Bofani in Monforte d’Alba. Set amidst the gentle contours of the Batasiolo vineyard, the Estate cannot be understood without admiring the expanses of its vineyards in the finest and most important wine-growing villages of the Langhe.
Tasting notes: A mix of liquorice, bouillon, leather and tar highlights this muscular red. Should develop on a relatively fast track, yet remains fresh and long on the finish.
Wine with deep garnet red colour and persistent aromas of ripe fruit, flowers and spices. Subtly reminiscent of wood, its main characteristic, the typical aromas of Nebbiolo blend to create a sensation of rare elegance. Powerful, elegant and charming, it has a full-bodied palate of great intensity. All the notes in the nose are harmonically enhanced making this a wine to be remembered.
