Region: Spain, La Rioja Alta
Grape variety: Tempranillo
Background: Arnegui Crianza is made from the best grapes of the Tempranillo variety of La Rioja Alta, from old vineyards with little production. The result is a wine that combines the tannic structure of Rioja with elegance and balance.
Winemaking process: The grapes are harvested under optimal ripening conditions. The maceration occurs cold to extract the colour and aromas of fruits. Fermentation takes place at temperatures between 25 and 28 ºC stainless steel tanks, for 10-12 days. Subsequently, there is a fermentative post-maceration of 5 to 10 days. The wine remains for a period of 12 months in new American oak barrels.
Tasting Notes: Classic Rioja, with fruity aroma of cherry, plum, orange peel and wood bark.
Intense ruby red colour with a touch of violet. Fruity aromas of sweet cherries, red plums, orange peel with a touch of herbaceous and oak well integrated. On the palate the aromas are repeated with soft and rounded tannins and subtle notes of sweet spices.
Food pairing: A perfect accompaniment to elaborate appetizers such as tomatoes stuffed with pine nuts, peppers, meats and mature cheeses.
