Region: California
Grape variety: Pinot Noir
Tasting notes: An entry level wine but a solid one. Very aromatic, displaying scents of fresh berries and sappy cherries. Soft and gentle on the palate with lighter weight flavours of red cherries and berries with a good cut of citrus-driven acidity on the finish.
Aromas of black cherry, blueberry, black currant, allspice, and loam are followed by flavours of wild raspberries, dark berries, and a crushed rock minerality. The dense entry is followed by a sweet and juicy mouthfeel, supported by acidity, silky tannins, and a subtle earthy finish.
Critical Acclaim
Jeb Dunnuck - 94 Points: “Readers looking for an incredibly charming, delicious Pinot Noir that’s going to deliver the goods should check out the 2019 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley from Hartford Court. Revealing a translucent ruby/plum colour, it has a wonderful nose of spiced red and black fruits, candied violets, orange blossom, and incense. Medium-bodied on the palate, it’s wonderfully balanced, with soft, supple tannins, nicely integrated acidity, and a great finish. Drink this beauty any time over the coming 5-6 years.”
Wilfred Wong of Wine.com - 92 Points: “The 2019 Hartford Court Russian River Valley Pinot Noir shows pleasing and nicely-focused textures on the palate. TASTING NOTES: This wine brings ripe fruit, light savoury spices, and oak onto the palate. Enjoy it with pan-fried, rosemary-accented lamb chops. (Tasted: October 22, 2020, San Francisco, CA)”
